SMOKING IS AN ADDICTION...RIGHT? SO HOW COME?

Alcoholism is an addiction...yet there are laws against those who indulge in alcoholin ways effecting the rest of us...most of the time...unless you are famous...say like Paris Hilton, Mel Gibson, and Wynonna Judd.

Sex can be an addiction...yet there are laws against those who indulge this addiction being able to indulge it against those of us who are not interested...unless...of course you happen to be famous...like Bill O'Reilley, and Tom Foley.

Drus addiction is not encouraged by our laws...offenders find themselves behind bars or forced into rehab...sometimes even the famous are forced to comply...believe it or not...like Robert Downey, Jr.

But smoking is an addiction that we, the ones who are allergic to second-hand smoke, cannot avoid even though we choose NOT to smoke...because smoking is an addiction that the legal beagles have NOT made laws to protect the rest of us against. (Just how many of our politicians are tobacco addicts, and therefore OFFENDERS hmmm?)

I am allergic. I have lung and sinus problems thanks to years of second-hand smoke...yet when I leave a store I must plow through the thick haze of smokers hovering just outside the door indulging in an addiction that hurts them BUT also HURTS ME!

All I want is to be able to breathe the air God placed here for me...not the nicotine laden poison that wafts out of the cigarettes AND the dragonian nostrils of those selfish saps addicted to them.

Addictions...why is it LEGAL to indulge in this addiction in such a way that forces the rest of us to ALSO suffer from it?

I am not saying don't smoke...but you have cars or your fellow smokers have cars...go to them, close yourselves in...and puff away until you have fed the beast for another fifteen minutes. STOP polluting the air that I must make my way through every time you light up in public!

I know what you mean. Yesterday, when I got into the medical transport that was to take me to my medical appointment yesterday, whoever the driver had before me must of smoked because the van reeked. Ugh!!!
